Meaning of Idiom ‘No Buts About It’
When someone says no buts about it they mean that there is no doubt; something will happen whether or not you want it to; it is decided; you cannot refuse.
No buts about it is often used when someone offers another person a favor or when they give them a command. The idiom is often shorted to ‘no buts.’ The expression is similar to “I won’t take no for an answer” but the two are not always interchangeable.
A common variation of the expression is “I don’t want to hear any buts.”
